You Will Never Achieve Your Purpose Through 'Work'.

“The principal horror of any system which defines the good in terms of profit rather than in terms of human need, or which defines human need to the exclusion of the psychic and emotional components of that need — is that it robs our work of its erotic value, its erotic power and life appeal and fulfillment. Such a system reduces work to a travesty of necessities, a duty by which we earn bread or oblivion for ourselves and those we love. But this is tantamount to blinding a painter and then telling her to improve her work, and to enjoy the act of painting. It is not only next to impossible, it is also profoundly cruel.” ~Audre Lourdes; The Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power

Work, in the patriarchal sense, rapes the soul.

It stomps all over the essence of truth — the power of our erotic nature — the creative, the ecstatic, the authentic brilliance of our innate worthiness. As such, to believe that we would gain some sense of purpose as a result of working for a top-down system that shackles imagination and stifles self expression, is futile.

Purpose is not merited through productivity…

Purpose Is About Choosing Your Worthiness.

When you are living your Purpose you are sharing your story. And your story is always connected to others.

As human BEings we have a deep seated need to belong. This is so inherent to our survival that we have learned to sacrifice the truth of our story for fairness of all. We do this to ensure we maintain our sense of belonging.

In the name of belonging, we may tell our story, but not all of it.

Unfortunately, in that hiding, we communicate to our unconscious that part of us is not worthy of being seen. And in that internalization, we burden ourselves with untruths like “I am not acceptable”, “I am not welcome”, or “It is not safe to be me.”

I challenge this strategy for “fitting in” — because are you truly belonging if you are not embodying truth?

Who is the one that is belonging if you are denying part of your story?

And who, or what, is benefiting if you are sacrificing part of your Truth. Part of your story. Part of your Purpose?

We have been taught that our worthiness is tied to productivity or that our worth is measured by what we DO. And that anything that dances outside the structure of productive “work” is a waste of time — judged to be meaningless.

Proclaiming Worthiness As Outcome Dependent Demeans Your Divine Nature.

Working to achieve purpose is not authentic. Measuring your worthiness based on how much and how hard you perform is a distasteful distraction. There is so much inherently wrong with this belief structure.

What I encourage you to step into is BEING On Purpose. This means understanding that your worthiness is connected to wholly expressing what makes you come alive. To commit to being in ecstatic excellence — emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and physically.

Your worthiness is inherent. You need do nothing more than BE your erotic self.

Tell your naked story — all of its delicious layers — knowing the totality of it is worthy of being seen.

It’s not about what you do— it’s about BEING true.

On purpose.

For pleasure.

Illuminate your erotic life force energy and truly make the difference you are meant to make — because you’re worth it!
